I am currently an advertising student looking to expand my experiences and meet new people in the process. Other than being a full-time student, I am working part time in retail as well as interning with a company as their Social Media Representative. Throughout life I have always loved interacting and communicating with others and treat this as one of my greatest skills and contributions in any task that I do.
I used to think the word was selfish or rude or even socially unaware…
But I have finally found the perfect word and definition to describe you. Self-Absorbed.
Definition: Simply stated, it is an individual that is so consumed with their own selves that they become oblivious to, nor do they care how their actions or words impact others.
You see a problem with everyone around you so much to the point that you’ve become oblivious to the possibility that maybe it’s not them who have something wrong with them- it’s you. You judge and criticize others and put yourself on a pedestal that maybe even you don’t realize you’ve built. The backhanded comments you make and the way you treat your “friends” make the people closest to you resent you.
Take a long hard look at the lack of relationships you’ve built over the years and maybe then you can realize that putting yourself first in every situation doesn’t always end well.
